It is a joy and a blessing to serve our God as the bride of Jesus Christ. We believe the church exists to glorify God by making Christ visible, clear and attractive to a corrupt and hopeless world. We want to spread a passion for God’s Word, a love for the saints, and a commitment to preach a biblical gospel to all peoples. What drives GBC is really our devotion to an exegetical understanding of Scripture that results in expository preaching. Simply put, studying the Bible to understand it, explain it, and live it as our Lord intended it to be read, heard and applied! This is exactly what the first church was like, continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and to prayer, Acts 2:42.

Instead, we see the church as John Calvin did, “Purity of doctrine is the soul of the church…the excellence of the church does not consist in multitude but in purity…the source and origin of the church is the free love of God.” Our aim is as D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones put it, “The glory of the gospel is that when the church is absolutely different from the world, she invariably attracts it.”
